OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES
WHAT IS LAMPEIN?
Lampein is a Greek word meaning “to shine.” In 2 Corinthians 4:6, the word lampein communicates the idea of radical transformation from the inside out. At Lampein Marriage and Family Therapy Institute, Inc., we provide Christian counseling, consulting, and community support services.
"WHAT WORKS" APPROACH
Our practice integrates trauma and culturally informed practices that are supported by Christian pastoral counseling and the best clinical research available. Primary clinical theories that shape our practice of therapy and counseling include Logotherapy, Structural Family Therapy, Experiential Family Therapy, Bowenian Family Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT). Therapy in a group support format is also available to meet various life adjustment challenges.
NICHE
Our niche is family-focused therapy whether couples therapy or one-on-one (individual systems) therapy. We specialize in offering therapy support for couples and individuals experiencing challenges in mental and/or chemical health, blended family, grief and loss, trauma, and other spiritual crises.
OUR MISSION
& ASPIRATION
Our mission is to experience lives being changed from the inside out.
Our aspiration is to work with you to learn new skills to replace old behaviors that have been damaging to yourself and to your relationships with others.
01
We believe that our relationships with GOD, others, and ourselves require changes in our ways of thinking (knowing); our ways of dealing with our feelings (glowing), and our ways of managing our behavior (showing).
02
We believe authentic change work is as much spiritual (meaning-making at the heart level) as it is mental, emotional, and behavioral.
03
We strive to demonstrate mindful, non-judgmental, and effective compassion and respect for all therapy participants and community partners.
04
We balance genuine compassion with clear accountability to strengthen motivation and to empower participants to make choices that lead them to experience a quality of life worth living.
05
We believe the people responsible for shepherding your process must receive ongoing training to stay sharp and accountable to others in their therapy and behavioral health practice.
06
As our team grows, we seek to attract Christian providers who are FL licensed therapists or masters level interns seeking FL licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy or Mental Health Counseling.
07
Our providers must be committed to providing ethical, skilled behavioral health and trained in strategic interventions to improve personal wellness integration as well as strengthen relational functions between family members.
08
As change strategists, we believe change is both possible and sustainable for individuals, couples, families, and organizations when therapists mindfully practice and model relational values (joining).
09
We also believe that the therapists and practitioners demonstrate their call to this shepherding role by maintaining an awareness of and by prioritizing openness to their own personal wellness journey and their personal family journey.
10
We believe that personal integration and family integration frees up the caregiver's body, mind, and spirit to motivate participants to change and make choices that draw upon solutions harnessed from the inside out.
